The Powder Highway
For those in the know, Kootenay powder is the stuff of legend. Pro skiers and boarders quietly ski here each year along what has been dubbed “The Powder Highway”.
Maybe it’s the 50 feet of fresh powder that hits the peaks year after year?
Perhaps it’s the fact that that powder is known as “Champagne Powder” (now officially trademarked by a nearby ski hill…). Perhaps because we’re the region that invented that little thing known as “Cat Skiing”?
All we know is that winter here is real deep.
